Types of NetWorks

In general .Net is used for network and internet computing so first we look into the different types of networks and network computing available in the IT field.

 Types of  Networks

  1. LAN (Local Area Network)

  2. MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)

  3. WAN (Wide Area Network)

 4.  EAN (Enterprise Area Network)

LAN

Network Limited to single organization located at single place is known as LAN

Ex: Network present in a bank, Network present in an organization, Network present  in an Office etc

MAN

Network   limited to a single city and its sub-urban places is known as MAN  

EX: cite cable Network 

WAN

  Network which has no limit in the universe is known as WAN        

  EX: Internet

EAN

There are two categories available in this Intranet, Extranet

Intranet: Network Limited to group of single organization located at places is intranet 

EX: Banking Network

Extranet: Network Limited to group of organization located at various places is known as extranet

EX: ATM Network
